Under Late Shane Warne’s leadership, Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural IPL season, but the pink squad had faced a dry run since then. Since the inaugural season, Rajasthan royals have entered in Playoffs three times but won’t be able to show impact after the initial season.
From the start of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals is the team that heavily depends on its foreign players. Rajasthan usually focuses on English players, and they depend upon them heavily, like – Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, and Liam Livingstone. Jos Buttler is the only player who is playing this IPL season from Rajasthan Royals. The absence of Indian star players is the major cause of their disappointment.

Before the auction, the team pledged to create a new team, which is necessary to improve their record in the IPL. They have retained only three players – Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashaswi Jaiswal. Sanju was their first retained player because of his performance in 2021, and he is the captain of RR.
