Punjab Kings are a cricket franchise based in Mohali, Punjab and their home ground is PCA Stadium, Mohali. They are playing in this tournament from starting this IPL as Kings XI Punjab. Punjab kings are jointly owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul. They are still striving to win their maiden cup.

The owners of this IPL franchise changed the name to Punjab kings in 2021, and in 2022, they have changed their whole team. Even the team has to face so much in IPL, including court cases for their existence. Finally, they won the case and are playing in this IPL with the hope of winning this tournament.

On 17 February 2021, team owners decided to change the team’s name. They gave a reason for name changing, and they told the public that they are doing it to rebrand after 13 seasons of IPL. Owners are highly disappointed with their performance of not winning the IPL trophy in the last 15 seasons. They expected to start from the beginning and create a new IPL team with some power-pack performers like Gabbar.

Punjab retained only two players – Mayank Aggarwal and Arshdeep Singh. Both are talented young players, and Mayank Aggarwal leads the team from the front.
