India is the defending champions of the Asia Cup as they won the 2018 world cup. Asia cup 2022 is the 15th edition of the Asia cup cricket tournaments, and Sri Lanka will host this T20i international tournament. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in September 2020, but due to a pandemic, the tournament got postponed. Six Asian teams will play in this tournament for the title, which will be a round-robin tournament. Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are the five teams, and the sixth team will be decided from the qualifiers playing among UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The tournament also proves helpful for all these teams to prepare for the world cup.
